ANONYMOUS SEX

Anonymous sex behaviors may include having one night stands, engaging in sex with anonymous partners, cruising beaches, parks, parking lots, baths, exposing yourself in showers, locker rooms, or public restrooms, or sexualizing others in health clubs, locker rooms, restrooms, or showers. Additionally, anonymous sex may involve internet-related activities such as video chat, and meeting people online for sex.

Sexual addiction which takes the form of anonymous sex is often free of entanglements or obligations and gratification is immediate. Without proper treatment, these behaviors often escalate to unsafe or high risk situations leading to arrest or sexually transmitted disease. As with other problematic sexual behaviors, therapy involves task-oriented intervention as well as understanding the origins of the destructive behavior.
